The Supplier Council

FWD’s role in bringing wholesale together stems from the Supplier council, a group of wholesalers and suppliers who meet regularly to commission work groups which explore four strands;

  • Wholesalers and suppliers better understanding each others’ needs and those of their customers.
  • Understand and influence wholesale customers in all channels.
  • Promoting the sector to suppliers at all levels.
  • Increase the use of technology and data in the sector.

Four expert working groups, each co-chaired by a wholesaler and supplier take these objectives forward.

The Security Committee

FWD brings together members’ loss prevention managers to discuss best practice in prevention and prosecution of crime against staff, customers and property. The committee shares details of technological innovations in the fight against crime and swaps intelligence on the tactics of criminals which target the sector. It prepares materials which inform customers of the possibility of crime in the wholesale environment, and gives them simple advice to safeguard their staff and their stock.

The Legal Committee

This ad-hoc committee assembles members’ legal representatives along with legal experts to look at legislation which affects the sector, discuss its effectiveness and the impact of implementation, and mount challenges if necessary.
