Wholesalers rejoice at golden success
Glorious night for wholesalers at prestigious industry awards
Bidfood scooped the big wholesale honour of the night at the Grocer Gold Awards, as the company was crowned Wholesaler of the Year – with Women in Wholesale and Henderson Foodservice also picking up titles.
The trio were among a collection of winners from across the grocery sector at the lavish ceremony at the Guidhall in London last night.
It was a landmark recognition for Bidfood, with the foodservice giant taking the Wholesaler of the Year gong for the first time, thanks to its continuous improvement.
Fellow foodservice operator, Henderson Foodservice, came top of the pile after being voted as Employer of the Year following the launch of its new employee programme that dramatically cut staff turnover and significantly improved sales growth.
Rounding off a fantastic night for the industry, Women in Wholesale took the Business Initiative of the Year award, with its ground-breaking work to address the gender pay gap receiving the recognition it deserves.
Bidfood CEO Andrew Selley was understandably delighted with his company’s victory and heaped praise on the team for the part each of them played in the success.
Selley said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have won the prestigious Wholesaler of the Year award at the Grocer Gold Awards last night.
“This win is testament to each and every one of our Bidfood employees, who work tirelessly to continue our mission of delivering service excellence, making customers lives easier and helping them to grow.”
