Express delivery as FWD hits a century
Top credit brand becomes Federation’s 100th supplier supporter
FWD is delighted to announce American Express as its 100thsupplier supporter, in its centenary year as the trade federation for the wholesale channel.
The century of supporters includes product manufacturers, service providers and market analysts that are dedicated to furthering the success of the wholesale channel in partnership with FWD members.
American Express provides wholesalers with a payment solution for settling invoices and issuing payments directly into their suppliers’ bank accounts.
It also offers attractive commercial rates for flexible payment-term extension of up to 90 days to help free up cash for alternative investment and aid growth strategies through additional lines of credit. In a number of cases this has helped wholesalers gain early payment discounts from suppliers.
Gregg Morris, Senior Manager for UK Sales, said: “Our membership of the FWD highlights our ambition to become a preferred financial partner for wholesalers in the UK, and we’re very excited to meet and build further relationships within the channel going forward.
“American Express works with a number of wholesalers already, and their feedback on the role of the FWD and the value it drives for the channel has been very consistent. We are delighted to become a member of such an important association for the wholesale channel, and are keen to further support their role of representing, promoting and bringing wholesale together, specifically in the financial solutions we aim to put forward and deliver for the channel.”
The addition of a 100thsupplier for FWD highlights a growing interest in the wholesale channel and FWD’s Director of Communications David Visick believes that’s a trend that’s likely to continue.
“We’ve seen a huge surge in support for the wholesale channel in the last year, with suppliers and service providers clearly recognising the opportunities the channel provides,” said Visick.
“At FWD, we believe we’re best placed to facilitate the communication and knowledge sharing that keeps the supply chain running smoothly and efficiently, and it’s great that companies of the calibre of American Express see us as a route to closer relationships with the UK’s wholesalers.”
Both the 100 year anniversary and the 100 supporters will be celebrated along with award-winning people and products of the year at the FWD Gold Medals in London on November 29.
