Hat-trick of awards for JJ Foodservice

Wholesaler’s hot streak sees them collect three titles in three days

Three was the magic number for JJ Foodservice as the wholesaler scooped a trio of top awards in a matter of days.

The foodservice specialist achieved its own hat-trick after being recognised by the Women in Wholesale Star Awards, the Foodservice Cateys and at the Cyprus-Turkish Cypriot Association Awards.

JJ’s winning streak began on Thursday last week when the business scooped the Best Initiative to Retain and Develop Talent award at the annual Women in Wholesale conference. Judges were impressed by JJ’s Warehouse Women campaign, which attracted more females into depot roles.

The team then hotfooted to the Foodservice Cateys the next evening in order to pick up the Supplier Excellence award in front of a room of the UK’s top caterers.

On this occasion, it was JJ’s investment in telematics to reduce carbon emissions and its Amazon-style ordering system that saw them pip other entrants to the post.

If that wasn’t enough, CEO Mustafa Kiamil was on stage at the Cyprus-Turkish Cypriot Association Awards to collect the Best Turkish-Cypriot Business of the Year title.

Judges lauded JJ’s rapid growth and investment in technology to improve service and sales as the reason by behind the victory.

“This was a fantastic opportunity to connect with many of our existing customers and the local Turkish-Cypriot community,” said Kiamil.

“By chance, we even had two restaurant customers on our table [when JJ won the award]. We’d like to thank our customers, suppliers and our team for their continued support.”
