Celebrating our career builders
The FWD Skills, Training and Apprenticeship Awards

The Skills, Training and Apprenticeship awards (the Wholesale Stars), were held in Westminster on April 18th 2023.

These awards celebrate and reward colleagues who are investing in developing their skills through apprenticeships, training or academic study, with the support of their employer.

We invited FWD members to select up to five members of their team who have taken on training and career development courses in the past two years.

Nominations came from people of all ages and experience, and from any discipline across the wholesale sector. All the winners have undertaken a course to improve their skills eg. an apprenticeship, external training course, or academic or business qualification.

Shadow Business and Industry Minister Bill Esterson MP presented the awards. He said: “It is fantastic to see the commitment of the wholesale sector to developing its workforce. By investing in skills and training, businesses are ensuring that they are able to meet the demands of a rapidly changing marketplace, while also providing their employees with the opportunity to develop and progress in their careers.

“We are here to celebrate the individuals who have excelled in their training and apprenticeships. They have demonstrated a commitment to learning and a dedication to their careers, and they are an inspiration to us all. They represent the future of the wholesale sector, and I have no doubt that they will continue to achieve great things in their chosen fields.”
