Savona scores top marks

Savona Foodservice awarded AA standard for Storage and Distribution

Following a busy two-year period, Savona Foodservice is celebrating once again having been awarded the top standard by the British Retail Consortium.

Both Oxford and Ilfracombe depots were audited and were awarded the AA standard for Storage and Distribution.

“AA standard isn’t just another accreditation,” said Mike Morgan, Director and General Manager at the Oxford depot. “It is an external recognition of the investment that we have made to achieve the highest possible quality assurances.”

“Accreditation at the highest levels gives us third party verification and allows us to share this with prospective customers,” said Kelly Williams, Sales and Marketing Director.

This accreditation comes hot on the heels on Savona’s other achievements, including the acquisition of Ilfracombe Wholesale Grocers by Savona Provisions. Since then the group has implemented a complete rebrand, developed a state-of-the-art freezer extension in the Oxford depot, doubled the cold store capacity of Ilfracombe depot and been awarded multiple contracts. The next step is to launch an online ordering platform, which uses artificial intelligence programmed specifically for the food sector, to provide a customer-centric service.
