Charity challenge is a Sleep in the Park

More than £3,500 has been raised for the homeless, thanks to Lomond staff

Caring employees from Lomond: The Wholesale Co braved the elements to sleep outside during a freezing cold night to raise much-needed funds for the homeless.

The hardy team of nine from Lomond included Managing Director, Sam Henderson and his daughter Lauren, who runs Cake, Lomond’s bakery to raise funds for Sleep in the Park, a nationwide charity which aims to end homelessness in Scotland.

“We really wanted to do our bit to help end homelessness in Scotland,” said Sam Henderson. “It’s a cause close to all of our hearts and giving up one evening to sleep under the stars, even in the freezing temperatures, felt like the very least we could do.”

“It was a chilly, chilly night,” said Lauren. “We’re lucky to still have our toes but it was so worth it for the money we raised, which will go towards building another village for the homeless.”

The team’s efforts helped to raise more than £3,500, and the fundraising page is still open for collect further donations.
