JW Filshill exhibition hailed a success

Annual trade event attracts more than 80 retailers and 60 suppliers

JW Filshill hosted its biggest trade exhibition to date recently at Glasgow’s Hampden Park, attracting retailers from across Scotland and the North of England.

The Scottish wholesaler used the event to showcase its latest offers and news, providing visitors with a platform to meet, network and build relationships. With more guests than any of the wholesaler’s previous exhibitions, the event attracted more than 80 retailers and 60 suppliers with several on-trade customers attending too.

Trade seminars were hosted by industry experts such as Tom Fender, Managing Director of Bolt Learning and Steve Appolinari, Sales Director of Fife Creamery. Seminars explored training, food-to-go and vaping.

“This has been our most successful trade exhibition and we were delighted that so many customers saw the value in taking time out of their businesses to see what’s new, talk to our suppliers and spend time with other retailer,” said Craig Brown, Retail Sales Director at JW Filshill.

“Events like this are important because they showcase what we’re doing, give retailers access to special offers not available at other times but crucially provide a platform for them to meet and network with new and existing contacts.”

Ahead of the Scottish Government’s introduction of a deposit return scheme (DRS) for empty drinks containers, the exhibition also covered what this will look like and showed retailers how the DRS machines operate.

JW Filshill won four titles at the Scottish Wholesale Achievers Awards earlier this year, including the coveted Champion of Champions award.
