James Hall celebrate Marie Curie care

Wholesaler teams up with Spar to donate hampers to deserving nurses

A group of conscientious wholesalers have pitched together to say a big thank you to Marie Curie Hospice staff to mark International Nurse’s Day.

The team from James Hall & Co visited their local hospice in Bradford to deliver hundreds of treats to the nurses to celebrate the worldwide efforts of care givers around the globe.

The wholesale employees were joined by two Spar retailers they supply in the Yorkshire city and took the nurses a selection of hampers of goodies, including Spar-branded tea, coffee and biscuits, to keep the hospice employees fuelled during busy shifts. That wasn’t all though, with prosecco, cupcakes and cream fudge also included in the hampers for a special treat.

James Hall & Co plan to continue its support of Marie Curie throughout the year by encouraging employees and customers to host Blooming Great Tea Parties to raise more cash for the charity.

“It’s such a lovely gesture to gift us all these goodies,” said the hospice’s lead nurse, Nicola Denbow. “Our job can be very demanding – both emotionally and physically – so every cup of tea or coffee, and a biscuit shared with a colleague helps.

“I’d like to thank Spar for its generosity. All my nursing colleagues are massively grateful too. They’ve certainly made this the best International Nurse’s Day.”
