Lomond’s “Welcome Back” campaign supporting hospitality

A Scottish wholesaler has slashed the prices of some of its most popular products to boost customer margins.

Lomond: The Wholesale Co has taken the novel decision as part of its Welcome Back, Giving Back campaign that aims to boost the coffers of struggling hospitality businesses.

The promotion will run from 1 August to 30 November, with monthly star products from its best-selling lines getting an extra boost.

Among the first swathe of products are a range of chips, bacon, burgers and chicken goujons.

“It’s been such a terrible few months, we wanted to help our customers get back on their feet as they open their doors once more,” said Lomond Director Barbara Henderson.

“So many of our customers will be operating on much lower volumes so it’s critical they have a great offer for their customers and by offering them these incredible prices on the products they most want to buy, we’re improving their margins which will help them build for the future.”

Lomond’s team was inspired to do their bit to help after being left grateful for the support they received during the worst of the crisis earlier in the year.

“We are so very, very grateful to our customers who have continued to trade through such desperately challenging times,” Henderson added.

“We’re also incredibly grateful for the support from the Scottish Wholesale Association, who has kept us informed about local level support available and of course, the support given from the government via the Job Retention Scheme.

“We are also grateful to the Scottish Government as we were awarded a PERF grant. And, we must thank our service providers who have worked tirelessly and relentlessly through these challenging months, especially Petit Forestier.”

In the midst of the pandemic, Lomond teamed up with a music guru to supply products to front-line NHS staff to keep them going.
