First Sugro virtual conference “delivered with excellence”

A rapid response to changing Covid-19 restrictions saw Sugro throw the doors open to its first virtual conference – getting up and running in two weeks.

The buying group has planned to host its first physical trade show and network event, but with government measures changing, they had to morph to an online event.

But after partnering with a virtual conference platform provider, Sugro’s team made light work of taking the event online and gave attendees an experience that was described as “best in class”

Wholesalers and suppliers logged on to see a series of presentations, video interviews and panel discussions throughout the day, with chances to take part in one-to-one video meetings with each other across three days afterwards.

Despite the rapid turnaround, the feedback Sugro received reflected how popular the event was with one attendee saying “the conference was delivered with excellence”, another branding it “very slick and effective” and others crediting how insightful, seamless and informative it was.

“It’s fantastic to see such a high level of attendance and participation between Sugro wholesalers and our supply partners,” said Sugro’s Head of Trading and Marketing, Yulia Petitt.

“As with everyone else in the world, we at Sugro had to adapt and do things differently this year and I’m very pleased that we are doing it successfully.

“Covid-19 has taught us that providing advanced solutions to help connect and network both Members and Suppliers is crucial to success in a rapidly transforming strategic environment.

“Sugro’s group performance has been remarkably strong in 2020 and I would like to thank our members and suppliers for all their support and participation in these unpredictable times.”
