Senior operations manager recruited at JW Filshill

Ahead of JW Filshill’s relocation, the wholesaler has appointed Barry Duncan as senior operations manager.

Duncan has joined only weeks before the move to a purpose-built 120,400 square foot distribution centre at Westway Park near Glasgow Airport.

The new recruit will be responsible for logistics and warehousing, and joins from medical device company Term Aortic. He’s also worked for Amazon and spent 16 years in the RAF.

Duncan’s move to Filshill was motivated by working in a “faster-paced environment” and the strong family values at the core of the wholesaler’s business.

“Managing our logistics operation is particularly challenging given the pressures that all in the logistics industry are dealing with at the moment so we are particularly pleased to have someone with Barry’s experience and skill set joining the Filshill ‘family’ at this time,” said Filshill’s Chief Financial and Operating Office, Keith Geddes.

“In particular, Barry’s continuous improvement focus will help us drive efficiencies from our upcoming move to the Westway site and help with our push towards a data-driven culture across the business while at the same time continuing to deliver best-in-class customer service.”
