Nicol Hughes Foodservice acquired by Bidcorp

North-west wholesaler Nicol Hughes Foodservice has been added to Bidcorp’s ranks following its acquisition.

The foodservice wholesaler becomes the latest addition to Caterfood buying group’s network of independent businesses, which includes Elite Fine Foods, Caterfood, South Lincs Foodservice and Cimandis.

Nicol Hughes was previously part of Sterling buying group, but will make the switch at the end of July – although its name, branding and independence will remain the same.

The wholesaler’s success has been built on a high level of service, delivering frozen, ambient, chilled and non-food products from its multi-temperature site in Chester.

“We’re thrilled to welcome the team and customers from Nicol Hughes Foodservice into our Bidcorp family,” said Bidcorp UK’s CEO, Andrew Selley.

“Since being transformed to its current format in the 1960’s, the company has developed an excellent reputation within foodservice and has a proud service record which fits with our own service excellence ambitions.

“Nicol Hughes Foodservice will become an integral part of Caterfood Buying Group, adding extra buying power, regional coverage, and expertise to share and learn from. I look forward to a successful integration and flourishing success within the group.”
