Wholesale pays tribute to “inspirational” Queen

Businesses from across the wholesale industry have paid tribute to The Queen following her death.

As the world comes to terms with the loss of the United Kingdom’s longest-serving monarchs, wholesalers, buying groups and individuals have taken to social media to pay their respects.

Among them were FWD, who posted that they are “deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen, Elizabeth II. Our thoughts and condolences are with The Royal Family and everyone in our trade around the world mourning the loss of Her Majesty.”

The FWD were joined by the likes of Sugro, Brakes, JW Filshill and Fairway Foodservice in paying homage to The Queen.

Among them were Bidfood, with the foodservice wholesaler sharing a particularly poignant message that showed how closely The Queen’s impact was to the sector.

The Bidfood statement read, “As Royal Warrant Holders, it’s our honour to serve the Royal Household, and it’s with great sadness that we offer our deepest sympathies and condolences to His Royal Highness King Charles III and the Royal Family on the passing of our beloved Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.”

Unitas Wholesale’s message said the buying group wished “to express our great appreciation to Her Majesty for the decades of service she devoted to our country”, while Confex commented that “Her Majesty’s 70-year reign, devotion and life of service to others was an inspiration to all”.

Countless others wholesalers also passed on their condolences as a swell of emotion continues to be shown across the sector.
