Welsh wholesaler spreads festive magic

Welsh foodservice wholesaler Castell Howell is spreading festive magic across its delivery route

Two lorries featuring a Christmas-themed wrap will form part of the main fleet delivering across Wales and the Southwest of England.

The festive themed additions will make deliveries to approximately 1,200 schools as well as featuring at community Christmas fayres and carnivals with the driver dressed as Santa giving out special gifts along the way. More than 2,000 gifts are given each year, including fruit hampers, selection packs, activity packs and Welsh food hampers.

The company has also launched a competition to find the best photos of the festive lorries. Anyone who spots the Christmas lorries on their delivery rounds can be in with a chance of winning one of seven luxury food hampers, each worth more than £100. Simply take a picture of the lorry and send it to the company via email, social media or direct message. The seven best photos will win.

Martin Jones, Director of Transport Operations at Castell Howell, said: “Christmas is a very special time of year for us as a company. Giving back to the community and charities across Wales is something we do throughout the year, so spreading a little festive cheer to them at Christmastime feels like a no-brainer.

“We’re very aware that Christmas can be a difficult time for families, so our festive lorries allow us to reach far and wide to deliver a little festive magic and fun along the way. We particularly like to concentrate on visiting schools that specialise in supporting children with additional needs, as well as those in disadvantaged areas. We’re so very passionate about doing what we can to support communities within our delivery reach, and this is a small gesture at a time of year where the importance of giving and helping others is prevalent’’.
