Wholesale team to climb heights for GroceryAid

As part of its celebrations for GroceryAid Day, Pilgrim Foodservice is launching its fundraising mission

Two of Pilgrim’s team members have announced their plans to tackle the Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds for GroceryAid.

The duo from the Lincolnshire-based Caterforce member are aiming to raise £15,000 for GroceryAid, the charity that helps people across the grocery industry in times of need. Pilgrim Foodservice’s and CJ Butchers’ Strategy Director Jenni Holgate and Head of Procurement Karen Hamlyn will begin their epic journey, known as the Three Peaks Pilgrimage, on Friday 9 August.

Starting with the ascent of Scotland’s iconic and the UK’s tallest mountain, Ben Nevis, towering at 1,345 metres above sea level, they will then tackle the formidable Scafell Pike on 10 August, before completing their journey with Snowdon the next day.

Rachel Atkin, head of people for Pilgrim Foodservice and CJ Butchers, said: “Jenni and Karen are embarking on this incredible adventure with the backing and well wishes of their families, colleagues and friends as well as the entire GroceryAid community. With the funds raised being used to support colleagues within the grocery industry, they’ll have a real sense of purpose to carry them and help them push through the challenge. The whole Pilgrim family is incredibly proud of their endeavours and will be cheering them on all the way.”
