Sugro partners with the Alice Charity

Member-owned buying and marketing group Sugro UK has announced that it has officially partnered with the Alice Charity

Having recently supported the Alice Charity’s 2025 Easter Appeal, Sugro was inspired to make Alice Charity its charity of choice and form a
partnership to support the cause on a longer-term basis. Sugro have accordingly committed to making monthly donations.

In addition, in partnership with its supply partners and members, Sugro is also keen to continue supporting seasonal campaigns at key points during the year, such as Christmas and Easter appeals, as well as partaking in volunteering opportunities which may arise.

Alice Charity supports vulnerable and disadvantaged families across Stoke-on- Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme. They provide a variety of services, including running a food bank, delivering educational resources, and providing advocacy and mentoring to help to change lives and create strong foundations for people. Alice Charity helps families facing a variety of issues including isolation, the effects of post-natal illness, disability, mental health issues, bereavement, multiple births, poverty, or financial difficulties. They also run a Big Cup scheme comprising weekly parent and toddler play group sessions, along with a People’s Pantry Scheme which provides a three-day emergency supply of food, baby products and toiletries to local families in need. Overall, Alice Charity works to break the poverty cycle, improve lives, and change communities.

According to figures obtained from The Alice Charity, £50 provides 10 meals to families in need, £100 provides support to a family for one month, and £500 funds one of their six Big Cup Groups for six weeks. Sugro’s total annual donation therefore has the potential to fund 200 meals to families in need, provide support to 10 families for one month, and fund 2 Big Cup Groups for six weeks each.

Sarah Sambrooks, support services manager at The Alice Charity, said: “We are profoundly thankful for the support from Sugro UK. The contribution is not just a donation; it is an investment in a brighter future for local children, families and our community. This contribution is a testament to the power of collaboration and compassion. We are truly grateful for your partnership and the opportunities you provide”.

Sugro UK’s Head of Commercial and Marketing, Yulia Petitt, added: “We are incredibly pleased to be able to support such a fantastic local charity, which makes a huge difference to so many families within the area. We are pleased that Sugro UK are able to contribute to such a great cause.”
