Wing Yip Business Centre given facelift

Revamp to Birmingham site to celebrate 50th anniversary

Wing Yip’s headquarters is set to receive a makeover as the oriental wholesaler and supermarket prepares for its 50th anniversary.

The Birmingham-based business celebrates half a century since it launched next year, so the decision was taken to fresh up its location on the outskirts of Britain’s second city on the run up to the occasion.

Wing Yip’s business centre will receive a full facelift to create a refreshed and open space that includes 11 multi-purpose units that will be made available to local business to use and let.

The location will also include an outside seating area and at least one restaurant, which will sit alongside the supermarket and wholesale operation that sit within the cluster of buildings.

Work is due to be completed this summer, with all current operations from the site in Birmingham remaining unaffected while development is carried out.

“Our Wing Yip Business Centre is an integral part of the Birmingham community and is focused on providing a range of specialist services to the Chinese and non-Chinese communities alike,” said Wing Yip Director, Brian Yip.

“From Chinese and oriental restaurants to bakers, healthcare and legal services, our sites are home to a number of local businesses and demand for our units continue to grow.

“Our renovation will create additional space and will allow us to grow our commercial offering as we enter our anniversary year.”

Wing Yip regularly holds events to engage with the community and recently concluded its annual Young Chef of the Year competition.
