Brakes named Foodservice Operator of the Year

There was no stopping Brakes at the Quality Food and Drink Awards as the foodservice wholesaler scooped 11 0f the 18 categories on the night.

The hoard of gongs included the coveted Foodservice Operator of the Year crown, which was the second consecutive year they’ve taken the title.

If the pile of awards they received wasn’t enough to shout about, Brakes was also highly commended for three of its products and commended for a further four.

Among the 11 winning products were Brakes’ gluten-free vegan chocolate orange dessert, banana blossom, sweet potato katsu curry pot and its garlic & herb marinated king prawns.

The success highlights Brakes focus on food innovation and product development across its product portfolio, with the awards coming in bakery, dessert, delicatessen and seafood. A feat that’s all the more impressive considering the situation many the foodservice is find due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“With the hospitality sector facing so many challenges at present, we remain committed to product products that not only highlight Brakes’ passion for food, but that also help our customers to save time, money and effort,” said Brakes Senior Product Development Manager, Matt Lake.
