New CORE own-brand launched by Confex

More than 300 new own-brand products are now available at Confex thanks to the launch of its CORE range.

The selection of products cover ambient, chilled, frozen and non-food categories and is available exclusively to Confex wholesalers.

The intention to roll out a wide-scale own-brand range was revealed in 2020 and was a key part of the buying group’s growth plans.

“We’re extremely excited to announce the first phase of producing the CORE Own Brand for the Confex group has gone live in January 2021,” said Business Development Manager, Matt Norman, who led the project.

“Members are now able to start placing orders and stocking the group’s new foodservice range, which will enable them to provide a competent and commercially competitive offer to their customers.

“The future looks bright for our members in 2021 and we’re confident as we continue the roll-out of the own brand, they will thrive as the sector re-emerges from the pain of lockdown. Members will have a brand in CORE that gives them a point of difference against their competitors.”

CORE has been launched in partnership with Arete Procurement Services, which is headed up by former Caterfore Managing Director Nick Redford.

The strong relationship was key to the successful launch of the range, according to Redford.

With the dedicated support of the ambitious Confex team and its new foodservice member committee, we’ve been able to execute a fully researched and technically robust CORE foodservice range in just seven months,” said Redford.

“During that time, the range has evolved to include non-food categories and we will continue as a wider team to review, refine and expand this exciting new brand. Taking care of more than 42 category tenders against a backdrop of Covid and Brexit uncertainty has not been without its challenges and we now look forward to seeing the success of the range Confex members.’
