Data skills the focus of SWA course

Data analysis and data presentation are on the bill in a new digital skills training course launched by Scottish Wholesale Association (SWA).

Delivered in partnership with Capita Learning, SWA has secured funding from Skills Development Scotland to run a BCS SCQF Level 7 course worth £3,000 per learner.

Funding is available for 20 people, with applications open to SWA’s wholesaler and supplier members.

The course has specifically designed and forms part of the SWA’s Decarbonisation of the Wholesale Industry project to help the wholesale industry on the road to net zero.

The idea is that the course will give employees the capability to analyse their company’s data including fleet emissions, route planning and efficiencies, building efficiencies and more.

While the course can be used to upskill an employee in whatever area of data analysis a wholesaler requires, it also has the potential to develop a skilled person capable of undertaking a decarbonisation audit as well as creating a “net-zero champion” within the business.

SWA has set an eligibility criteria for the course, which includes a need to complete it by March 2022. While the course is available for both wholesalers and suppliers, wholesalers will be given an initial preference.

Companies are urged to apply for a place as soon as possible, with further information on the course on the SWA website.
