Confex group

Three new members join Confex

Confex has added three new wholesale members to its ranks, with Midland Food Service Ltd, Deckers and Lion Catering signing up.

The new additions take the Cotswolds-based buying group’s membership to 227 and elevates the overall turnover by £75 million.

The trio of new members arrive as Confex celebrates its 50th anniversary and is bolstering its team, with Managing Director Tom Gittins and sister HR & Marketing Director Jess Douglas leading a new era for the business as the third generation of their family at the helm.

“Confex is becoming the natural home for forward-thinking wholesalers,” said Confex Chairman Martin Williams.

“They can take advantage of our terms, promotions, marketing, events and our own-brand range CORE, which continues to grow and thrive. We remain open to discuss membership with any progressive wholesaler who wants to be a part of such a dynamic and changing group.”

What the new members are saying

“We have chosen Confex for their breadth of knowledge and their innovative approach to the wholesale industry – we look forward to working closely with the Head Office Team to create additional opportunities for Deckers.”

Andy Waller, Deckers

“Joining Confex will allow Midland Food Service to take advantage of CORE own label products to service customers of our recently acquired business Strawberry Fields. We look forward to building a strong partnership, not only with Confex Head Office team, but also the wider membership and look forward to some profitable inter-company trading”

Graham Dolman, Midland Foods

‘We are delighted to join Confex buying group to accelerate our growth plans by working along with Confex suppliers to expand our product offering to the customers with Confex own brand CORE and other branded products available via Confex suppliers.”
