GroceryAid launches Always Open awareness campaign

GroceryAid, the industry charity that provides free and confidential support to colleagues working in grocery, is launching a new awareness campaign

The campaign, Always Open, is being launched as part of GroceryAid Day on 10 May 2023 and highlights that GroceryAid is always open, providing free and confidential emotional, practical and financial support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to any colleague working in the grocery industry. The campaign signposts to the charity’s free and confidential helpline, plus online support and financial grants.

The charity will leverage industry support to spread this message to the 4.5 million colleagues working 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in all operational areas of the grocery trade.

To help organisations raise awareness, GroceryAid has created a set of printed materials that includes posters, leaflets, stickers and wallet cards that employers can order and distribute internally. Orders can be placed on the website. The deadline for ordering materials is 21st April 2023.

The charity has also created a suite of digital materials, including social media assets and digital banners, that can be downloaded directly from the website.

Mandi Leonard, GroceryAid’s Welfare Director, says: “Colleagues need our help more than ever with the cost-of-living crisis causing emotional and financial pressure. With the help of our supporters on GroceryAid Day, we can get the message out to all areas of the industry. Depression, anxiety and stress can become overwhelming at any time of the day or night, so it is important that colleagues know they can talk to GroceryAid immediately should they need to.

“Our holistic approach to supporting colleagues means they may also be eligible for free and confidential counselling, legal advice, financial grants and practical guidance, which help colleagues make positive changes.”

GroceryAid’s helpline is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing immediate emotional support and guidance. Colleagues can also access online help and guidance through the charity’s website www.groceryaid.org.uk.
