Sugro adds trio of new members

Member-owned buying group Sugro has welcomed three new members, taking its tally to more than 90

The new members, Prime Cash and Carry, Parker Hampton Food Group and DKS Traders, cited ‘wide category coverage’, ‘opportunity for growth’, ‘access to top-tier suppliers’ and ‘providing the best deals possible’ as the key reasons for their decision to join.

Parker Hampton Food Group is a family-run wholesaler in Newcastle upon Tyne delivering impulse, grocery and alcohol lines to retailers across Cambridgeshire, North-East and South Yorkshire. Established in 2021, the business plans to expand across the UK, boosted by their acquisition of 10 convenience stores from Duncan Turner Ltd in 2023.

Essex-based DKS Traders has been trading since 2015, supplying local convenience stores, discount stores, online retailers and small cash and carries with a wide range of confectionery, soft drinks, grocery lines and household non-food items.

Prime Cash & Carry, based in London, began trading in 2023 supplying food and non-food to independent retailers while building its customer base with a new website and the introduction of click-and-collect and delivery services.

Sugro business development manager Shruti Senapati said: “As a group, we strive to provide the best terms, supplier engagement opportunities and support to the member companies as they look to harness the group’s buying power to grow their retail and wholesale businesses.”
