Confex office move triggers flexi-home working approach

A new office in the Cotswolds is helping Confex lead a flexible-working revolution.

The buying group is moving to a new premises 15 minutes away from the previous office in Moreton-in-Marsh allows for working practises adopted during Covid-19 to introduce flexible home working for all staff.

Doing this will allow Confex to downsize its office, helping to make efficiencies while continuing to offer great service to their members.

The pandemic has changed many working practices on so many levels globally and at Confex we have been astounded at how well our team adapted from day one working from home,” says HR and Marketing Director Jess Douglas.

“Efficiency and communication has remained consistent due to the technology we now have available and so management decided we no longer need such a huge office space and would give employees the flexibility to work from home on a more permanent basis.

“They have all appreciated the work/life balance working from home has enabled them and we have noticed this in productivity, with the buying group going from strength to strength onboarding new members, sales increasing and rolling out new projects successfully.”

The decision also means Confex will make significant green savings and come closer to achieving its goal of being a carbon neutral business.

“At Confex, we have always cared about the environment and from being the first buying group to introduce a Green Wholesaler Award eight years ago to offsetting our carbon footprint from our member conference by planting trees, our downsize in office space adds to our ethos and target of becoming a carbon neutral business,” Douglas added.

“We hope to also go paperless in the not too distant future. There is still a head office for supplier meetings, for staff get togethers and hot desks will be available for any employees who want to work in the office.

“We are excited about this move and feel it is the right thing for our progressive buying group and our loyal employees and we are looking forward to a bright future.”

The office announcement comes at an exciting time for Confex, after the buying group recently unveiled its new own-brand range, Core.
