FWD members have reported increased tension in cash and carry and their car parks. This is expected to ease as panic buying diminishes.

However the threat of thefts from customers remains high and members have taken steps to secure their premises. The Security Industry Authority can provide security personnel.

FWD has issued a flyer for Cash and Carry receptions to raise awareness of the risk of theft, both on the car park and in transit to the customer’s premises. It can be downloaded here

The Home Office is aware of the risk of disruption of the food supply chain and is putting measures in place to maintain supply.
